27 Word Up

On the day of our church Christmas fair and Nativity, I was given two very similar prophetic words. One of the ladies in our Women Warriors group, prophesied that the aroma of God was coming from my mouth and my words were anointed. Embarrassed, I did double check that it wasn’t a case of poor dental hygiene, but she assured me that there was a beautiful aroma coming from my mouth. Later, as I was having lunch I got chatting to another lady about my blog. She said there was a resonance and frequency in my voice that needed to be heard and she suggested I video myself reading out my blogs.

Well, twice in the space of an hour and I think I should pay attention. I went away and reflected on this over Christmas. Not for too long a time, which has been my habit before. I didn’t want to spend weeks or months ruminating over it and doubting or debating whether or not I should proceed.

I didn’t fancy the idea of videoing myself for a number of reasons. I talked to the main YouTube user in the family who recommended that a professional approach would attract more viewers. It’s expensive to invest in the equipment needed for that and I would have to put on make up every time. Unique suggested podcasting may suit me better, since it was my voice that was important. Geof set me up with the software, which I learned to use and I recorded a few episodes. Because YouTube is the way to go to get a wider reach, I considered making animated videos with me narrating the episodes. Geof and I investigated a few packages after Christmas and settled for one of the products. Since then I have been busy in my spare time recording audio for the podcasts and the animated vlogs I have learned to make with the software. The first couple of episodes are now on YouTube, so please check them out.

The process for podcasts and vlogs is time consuming and involves learning to use two different software packages. This has been very time consuming and there have been several iterations of both so that there is greater uniformity and to develop my particular style. I have tried drawing some of the images and abandoned that idea as a long term option. I have find an interesting way to represent myself. I have renumbered everything so that the blogs, podcasts and vlogs all correspond to each other. So far I have made 3 podcasts, two videos and I am continuing to blog as well.

Having tested out a few podcasts and animated videos on a few trusted friends and received encouraging feedback, I am all set to continue and persevere, as I feel it’s worth all the effort.

Now I just need to find the time. Perhaps now is the time to cut down on TV consumption?
